The short version
HD Video Player plays videos and music that are already on your device. We do not collect, upload, or sell your videos, music, or personal files. There is no account and no server storing your media.
Media access
- Video and audio library access (
READ_MEDIA_VIDEO,READ_MEDIA_AUDIO) is used only to find and play media files stored on your device and SD card. - Your media files never leave your device. Playback, thumbnails, playlists, and watch history are stored locally in the app's private storage.
- On Android 14+, you can grant access to only selected videos; the app respects this choice.
- Files you move into the private vault stay on your device, in the app's private storage. We have no copy of them and no way to recover them if the app is uninstalled.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics (such as feature usage, device model, and app version) to improve the app. This data does not identify you personally and does not include the content or names of your media files. Crash reporting
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash logs (stack traces, device state) to help us fix bugs. Crash logs do not include your media content.
Ads
The app is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may use your device's advertising ID and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, and this identifier may be shared with Google and its advertising partners for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before serving personalized ads, and you can change your choice at any time. See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Upgrading to Premium removes all ads.
In-app purchases & Premium
The app offers an optional Premium upgrade (subscription or one-time purchase) that removes ads and unlocks extra features. All purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing; we never see or store your payment details.
Permissions summary
- Media library — find and play your videos and music.
- Notifications — playback controls while playing in the background.
- Internet — load ads and send anonymous analytics/crash reports.
Children
HD Video Player is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data deletion
There is no account to delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your device, including the vault, playlists and watch history. To ask about analytics or crash data, email us at the address below.
Changes
We may update this policy; changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
